Here are a few tips that might help you: Use a thread net and omit the spool cap (less stuff to get tangled on) Use a 90 Metallic needle or a 90-100 Topstitch needle Slow the speed of the machine to less than half speed Hope's personal preference is RA Metallic J thread which likes to be put horizontal on the spool cap
